Events Calendar
Generally, events are added to the Google calendar at least a couple of weeks before the event. If you have a Google account, you can subscribe by clicking on the "Add to Google Calendar" link at the bottom left-hand corner of the calendar. ​​​​​
Recurring Events
Uposatha Days
​
Uposatha days are also referred to as lunar observance or moon days. They occur about once a week. You can read more about the origin of the uposatha days here. Click here for a copy of the 2026 uposatha days and major Buddhist holidays in PDF format.

Metta Parisa Meditation Group (Virtual)
A group of lay students meet weekly on the uposatha days. These virtual meetings on Zoom occur at 7pm on Pacific Standard Time or 8pm Pacific Daylight Time, depending on the season. The format is chanting, meditation with a prerecorded Dhamma talk of Ajaan Geoff, dedication of merit and goodwill.

The celebration usually takes place in the middle of April at the Monastery.

Kathina
Kathina robe offering ceremony occurs after the three-month rains retreat for the monastics. It is celebrated at the Monastery on a Sunday. Depending on the year, it may occur as early as the middle of October or as late as the middle of November. ​​​​​
Off-Site Teachings
Various meditation groups invite Ajaan Geoff to give teachings at their organization. Many of these events are hybrid (on-site attendance and virtual). The calendar typically will provide a link to the organizer's website on how to sign up for these events. If you're interested, please look out for these events on this calendar or via the respective organization's website. Periodically check the interested event as there may be last minutes changes.

Aranya Refuge and Victoria Insight Meditation Society (Victoria Island, British Columbia, Canada)
In recent years, Aranya Refuge and/or Victoria IMS host a daylong retreat in the summer (July or August). Aranya Refuge also hosts monks from the Monastery for several weeks (or up to two months) each year in British Columbia. Lay people can offer food, join as overnight visitors, receive teachings, and attend group meditation sessions.

Sati Center (Redwood City, California, USA)
The daylong retreat often occurs on a Saturday in the middle of September. Recordings of past teachings are available on the Sati Center website.

Portland Friends of the Dhamma (Portland, Oregon, USA)
The Friday evening and weekend retreat is generally in late October. More information can be found here.

Retreats in France and Brazil
In the past, students in France and Brazil have arranged week-long retreat in France and Brazil. They have taken place in alternate year and often in February or April.
